UNITED STEELWORKERS RALLY – Wednesday, October 21st, Morning Rally 8:30-9:90am; Lunchtime Rally 12-1pm. Across from the New York Stock Exchange, Steps of Federal Hall.
In solidarity with striking steelworkers from Canada, confront Vale on the New York Stock Exchange!
Vale, the world’s second largest mining company, is waging an all out war on workers and their communities around the globe. More than 3,500 miners are on strike against the company’s cut back demands in Canada and Brazilian workers are fighting to hold the line and maintain adequate working conditions.
The mining giant with more than $22 billion in cash on hand is using the ongoing financial crisis as a pretext for slashing workers’ pay and benefits in Canada, Brazil and around the world.
On October 21st, Vale will be meeting with investors and analysts at Vale Day on the New York Stock Exchange.
Join striking miners from Canada and union activists from Brazil as they confront Vale executives and build the global campaign against Vale’s corporate abuses.
