At 3pm on April 4th, 2011 - Stand Up for Workers' Rights

On April 4th, 2011 we'll commemorate the life work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. King was assassinated on that date in 1968, as he stood with striking sanitation workers in Memphis.

The Newspaper Guild-CWA is asking all workers to plan a visibile activity in their worplace for 3 p.m. local time on April 4th.

Stickers and flyers are available on request - contact Jay West at the Guild office.

CWA is planning activities around the country. Find out what is going on in your area by visiting www.cwaAction.org .

Fight back against the destruction of workers' rights in America.

The state of Wisconsin was the first to recognize the right of public workers to organize over 50 years ago. Now, some are acting to destroy those rights, using the excuse of budget balancing.

Join other CWA activists, and members from human rights organizations, on April 4th, 2011. Activities are planned throughout the United States. This is not about narrow interests. This is about saving democracy, in the workplace, and in the United States.

Want to do something TODAY? Here's what you can do right now  to make a difference.
