Act Now for Health Care Reform
The debate over health care reform is reaching a critical stage in Congress. Insurance companies are working day and night to stop health care reform.
Why?
Because in the current system, health insurance companies win and the rest of us lose. We can't afford to let that happen.
How are Union members affected?
Plenty.
There are plans in the works that would tax good health care plans such as ours by 40%!
That's unacceptable.
What can you do today to help pass real health care reform?
Contact your senators and representative in Washington and tell them now is the time to pass real health care reform.
In the next few days, as the Senate and House make key decisions about health care reform, your legislators need to hear from you.
It is critical that the final bill:
Includes a strong public health insurance option to control skyrocketing costs
Doesn't impose a 40% excise tax on benefits of members like ours
Requires employers to pay their fair share
Doesn't make workers pay more for what they already have
Stops insurance company abuses
Supports a progressive tax on richest Americans
Speak out today:
Send a message to your senators and representative in support of real health care reform.
Opponents of reform are making their views known at every moment, and we need your help to counter their lobbying efforts. Tell them how important this issue is and explain why we need real health care reform now.
Insurance companies, drug makers and other private health industries have spent more than $126 million on lobbyists this year alone, and we can't let them kill reform. The American people want real health care reform, and it's up to you to keep the pressure on your members of Congress to do the right thing.
Make your voice heard:
Send a message to your senators and representative today.
Together, we can ensure that everyone in America has access to quality, affordable health care.
